Travel Green Flag Day of Action

On Wednesday 4th March, Oatlands Primary School had a day of fun filled action to try and earn our Travel Green Flag for the Green Schools Programme. Children and parents have been making a huge effort to leave the car at home and either walk, scoot, cycle, car pool or park and stride to school. Lots of classes in the school did travel based projects and learned a travel song. Each class had an activity to do on the day with Junior Infants playing a game in the hall and all the rest of the school walking a kilometre around the school (some classes even managed two!)

A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Benson for all his hard work over the last few years. Well done also to the Green Schools Committee including Ms. O'Connell, Mr. Maloney, Mr. Harrington and Mr. Everett.

Ms. Ní Donnchu also played a sterling role in leading all classes around the kilometre route.

Thanks to Nissan for sending in their electric Nissan Leaf car also. The senior classes really enjoyed having a look.

Well done to all classes. It was a fantastic day!
