What is Oatlands Parents' Council?

​

Our Parents' Council encourages all parents/guardians to play an active role in the life of the school community. Our Council promotes the interest of the students and facilitates good co-operation and communication between the Principal, Board of Management, teachers, staff and pupils of our school in order for the best possible education for our children.

 

The Parents' Council organise many activities and these all assist to achieve to two main roles within Oatlands:

• We work in partnership with the Principal, Board of Management, and the whole school community for the betterment of the children in our school

• We support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of their children’s educational lives.

What We Do!
 

Oatlands Parents' Council meets monthly for approximately 90 minutes to discuss suggestions and comments, which you can share through your class representative, who serves as a link to the School Board.

The Council also organises parent talks and various social and fundraising events, such as cake sales, coffee mornings, Christmas discos, Holy Communion parties, school fairs, raffles, Sixth Class graduations, Run-for-Fun, and second-hand uniform sales.

Our Structure
The Council is made up of one parent or guardian representative from each class, with a Committee that includes a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.
The work of Oatlands Parents' Council is entirely voluntary, and we’re always looking for parents to help support school events and fundraisers. To get involved, contact your Class Rep or email us—we’d be delighted to have you!
