Welcome to Oatlands Parent’s Council!
Oatlands Parents Council would like to say a very Big Thank You to all those parents/guardians who supported and helped us with events over the last year. Welcome to any new parent/guardian!
What is Oatlands Parents Council?
Our Parents Council encourages all parents/guardians to play an active role in the life of the school community. Our Council promotes the interest of the students and facilitates good co-operation and communication between the Principal, Board of Management, teachers, staff and pupils of our school in order for the best possible education for our children.
The Parents Council organize many activities and these all assist to achieve to two main roles within Oatlands:

We work in partnership with the Principal, Board of Management, and the whole school community for the betterment of the children in our school

We support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of their children’s educational lives
Oatlands Parents Council meets once a month for approx. 90 mins and if you have suggestions or comments which you would like brought to our attention, please contact your class representative, who acts as a link between you and the School Board.
What do we do?
The Council usually arranges a talk of interest to parents during the school year and also organises a number of social and fundraising events during the year. In previous years Parents Council events have included: cake-sale/coffee morning, Christmas disco, Holy Communion Party, School Fair, Raffle, Sixth Class Graduation, Run-for-Fun, and a second-hand uniform sale.
The work of Oatlands Parents Council is voluntary – we are always looking for volunteers to practically support events and fundraisers in the school. Please do contact your Class Rep to get involved (or email us at - we would be delighted to have you along!)
Structure of Oatlands Parents Council
Oatlands Parents’ Council is comprised of 1 parent/guardian representative from each class. The Committee has a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, a Treasurer and a Secretary.
